Mikey is An Emmy-winning nonfiction filmmaker working across premium streaming [Netflix, HBO, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video] independent cinema and high-end branded content.

Drawn to authentic human stories and emotional resonance, his approach is underpinned by a robust technical fluency across the entire production pipeline. Formally trained in the camera department of large-scale feature films, Mikey brings a comprehensive skillset that allows him to adapt to a variety of roles including shooting producer/director, cinematographer or creative director. His specialist skills include in-water and Ronin 4D camera operation.

He is experienced working with high-profile contributors in challenging, fast-paced environments and his feature documentary directorial debut, Savage Waters, premiered as the opening-night film at the prestigious DocLands Film Festival in California. The film went on to win multiple international awards, rank among the UK’s ten highest-grossing documentaries of its release year, and secure distribution on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. He subsequently directed Making Waves, a feature documentary for acclaimed production company Box to Box Films.

As a cinematographer, Mikey has worked alongside acclaimed director Chris Smith (Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, Fyre, WHAM!, Sr., Mr. McMahon) on HBO’s multi-award-winning 100 Foot Wave. His intimate vérité cinematography earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program. He has also worked as an additional cinematographer for director Rebecca Chaiklin (Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness) on Netflix’s Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story.

Crossing over into premium branded content, Mikey’s high-end doc approach marries authentic human stories to measurable brand objectives. Recent clients include Amazon [Rising Stars Series: 20mil+ reach] The CFA institute, The Financial Times and BBC StoryWorks.

His impact-driven work extends into the charity sector through his collaboration with the Pickwell Foundation. He also recently created a suite of long and short form campaign assets for the South African charity, Surfers Not Street Children, which includes the film Into the Light which premiered at DocLands and is now screening at film festivals internationally.
